THE JOY OF PAINTING

The series of drawings in this project are derived from the paintings of the “television-painter” Bob Ross. The entire project consists of 403 drawings, which are directly related to the number of imaginary landscape paintings Bob Ross produced on his televised “instructional program”. These drawings explore and question the fundamental idea that the space of nature is neutral apriori condition to the space of architecture. The “truthfulness” of the space of nature is often taken for granted, while the idea that nature is constantly manipulated is often overlooked. Ultimately the series of drawings attempt to explore the contemporary blur between what is natural and what is synthetic.
